Fort McMurray woman dead in house fire

A woman is dead after a home caught fire in the Gregoire area of Fort McMurray on Saturday afternoon.

Wood Buffalo RCMP say they got a call for a fire that involved two people in a home at around 2:40 p.m on Oct. 22.

Police say a 34-year-old Fort McMurray woman died of her injuries upon their arrival. Another person in the home was able to get out uninjured.

Investigators say the fire and death was “not suspicious.”
