Semi-truck crashes into home near Edmonton

A semi-truck and trailer unit crashed into a home near the town of Onoway northwest of Edmonton Sunday.

Parkland RCMP say it happened just before 5 p.m. on Range Road 23A south of Township Road 545.

They say the driver of the truck was found dead inside after emergency crews reached him.

Two people were inside the home at the time, and they were not injured since police say they were in another part of the home.

Investigators say the driver, a 49-year-old man from Edgerton, may have been experiencing a “medical event,” which they say led to the crash.

Further results of the autopsy are still expected from the medical examiner’s office.
