Maskawics man shot by Alberta RCMP

A man has been flown to hospital in critical condition after being shot by police.
RCMP say it happened in Maskwacis, south of Wetaskiwin, at around 1:30 p.m. when they were called about a man shooting a gun in a rural area on the First Nation.
When police arrived, a “confrontation occurred,” and an officer shot the man.
The 27-year-old Maskwacis resident was flown by STARS Ambulance in life-threatening condition.
No other injuries were reported.
The police watchdog, Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT), has confirmed it is now investigating.
