Gene Simmons launches new Calgary vodka

By Todd Kaufman

Legendary rocker Gene Simmons of KISS made a stop in Calgary to launch his MoneyBag Vodka, which is made by the city’s own Minhas Breweries and Distilleries.

Hundreds of people lined up outside the brewery on Wednesday night, then again on Thursday at a Sobey’s Liquor store in the southwest.

Simmons talks about his new vodka and how Alberta was the site of the first KISS tour stops in the early 70s.

“…everyone got up and ran out because they didn’t know bands were allowed to blow stuff up,” Simmons said while speaking with CityNews.
