Calgary gas prices down 20 cents: GasBuddy

Gas prices continue to drop in Calgary, with a 20 cent decrease since November at this time, according to GasBuddy reports on Monday morning.

Calgary rates are at $1.23 per litre, which is down from $1.44 per litre. Last year’s average was $1.38 per litre.

Earlier in the month, GasBuddy reported a 25 cent decrease in gas prices.

The current average across the country is $1.39 per litre, which is 17 cents more than Calgary’s average.

Meanwhile, oil is trading at its lowest level since before the invasion of Ukraine, hovering around $74 dollars U.S. a barrel.

Refinery issues in Canada and the U.S. have set back prices a couple months ago, with GasBuddy recording Calgary’s average price for a litre of regular at just over $1.72 per litre on Oct. 7. Edmonton’s average was just under $1.69.

Inflation has been an issue for Calgarians as prices have increased in all manner of areas, according to a report from the Calgary Foundation.

The highest gas price was earlier in the year when prices were $1.91 per litre in June.
