Calgary Zoo proud of baby gorilla’s curiosity

The Calgary Zoo tweeted a heartwarming video Sunday showing how curious their baby gorilla “Eyare” is.
The zoo says Eyare has been quite active lately.
“Guess who? Baby shark? Nope. Groundhog? Wrong again,” the zoo tweeted. “Our littlest western lowland gorilla? Bingo!
“These days, little ‘Eyare’ is always on the move and we can’t get enough of her curious ways.”

In November, the zoo shared another video, showing the baby gorilla socializng with other animals.
“It couldn’t have gone smoother,” the zoo tweeted. “Let’s hear it for the enrichment power of mixed-species habitats!”

This came after Eyare melted Calgarians’ hearts in a video where it experiences its first snow in Calgary.
“Recent weather has given Eyare her first encounter with snow!” the zoo tweeted in November. “The Gorilla Care Team spent the season’s first snow day building engaging enrichment in the indoor gorilla habitat.”

The zoo celebrated Eyare’s half-birthday, as it turned six months old in October 2022.
“She is becoming more independent each day,” the zoo said.
