1 charged in relation to Lion’s Park CTrain stabbing: Police

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) says one woman has been charged in connection to stabbing three other women at the Lion’s Park CTrain station.

Officers say they were called to the CTrain station around 8 p.m. on Tuesday for reports of a fight involving multiple women. CPS says its District Operations Team happened to be in the area at the time of the incident and was immediately on scene assessing what happened.

Police say when they arrived, they found three women that hed been stabbed. Two of the women were taken to hospital with non-critical conditions, they have since been released. Another woman was in critical condition, and she remains in hospital.

CPS believes the women knew each other prior to the stabbings.

Brittany Jewel Mahingen, 31, has been charged with aggravated assault and three counts of failure to comply with a court order.

Mahingen is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
