The Northern Pikes formed in Saskatoon in 1984 with drummer Don Schmid joining Jay Semko, Bryan Potvin, and Merl Bryck in 1986.
1990’s ‘Snow in June’ is the band’s lone platinum album to go along with their four gold records, and eight hit singles.
The band took a hiatus in the mid-90s but in the end, still plays together to this day.
Schmid took some time recently to sit down with City’s Todd Kaufman to talk about what 2023 has in store for the band…
The Northern Pikes will release a reimagining of some of the ‘Snow In June’ favorites with the acoustic album “Time To Time’ on June 2nd.
The latest single “Kiss Me You Fool” was released on March 31st.
