2 people found dead near Spruce Cliff; Calgary police homicide unit investigating

The homicide unit has been called in after police say two people were found dead in southwest Calgary Saturday evening.
The Calgary Police Service (CPS) says officers were called to an area near Spruce Place and Spruce Drive around 7:10 p.m. for reports of a “medical collapse.”
When officers arrived, police say two people were found dead on the scene.
Since then, police say their homicide unit has been tasked with investigating.
We continue to investigate two deaths that occurred last evening in Spruce Cliff. Our Homicide Unit is on scene and the investigation is ongoing.

Police note there is no risk to the public, but the “incident took place in a public area” and says there are supports available for people.
“We recognize it may be upsetting to those who witnessed it and want to ensure witnesses and those impacted by this event are connected with support,” a news release reads.
