Calgary Zoo celebrates new mother lemur

The Calgary Zoo says Happy Mother’s Day to its Eny the lemur, as she’s being a “great mother.”

The zoo took to Twitter to share a heartwarming video showing Eny’s motherhood skills.

“Eny is doing very well caring for the pup, which is evident by how the pup is growing and thriving,” reads the tweet.

“Thanks moms for all you do!”

The zoo announced Friday on Twitter “a critically endangered black-and-white ruffed lemur pup was born last month to lemur parents ‘Eny’ & ‘Menabe’.”

The newborn was born last month and the family is not viewable at this time to the public, according to the zoo.

Lemurs are endangered due to the deforestation of their forest habitats in Madagascar.
