Man sent to hospital after northeast Calgary shooting

A man is in life-threatening condition following a shooting on Monday night in the northeast.

Police say the victim is suffering from multiple gunshot wounds after the shooting which occurred just before 10 p.m. near the Denny’s restaurant on McKnight Blvd and Edmonton Trail/4 Street.

Police believe it is a targeted attack and add a vehicle said to be involved was set on fire a short time after.

Police say they have multiple investigators at multiple scenes but it’s still early in their investigation.

A search for suspects is ongoing and police say the victim is known to them.

No other injuries have been reported.
