Calgary police look for jewelry stolen from YYC bus

Calgary police are hoping someone will come forward with any information they have about jewelry stolen from a passenger bus that arrived at YYC International Airport last month.

On Thursday, Aug. 16, 2023, investigators say a man was travelling to the Calgary International Airport on a Red Arrow bus.

When he arrived at the airport, police believe some stole a bag belonging to the man while the bus was being unloaded.

The bag is described as a grey Air Canada carry on and contained a jewelry collection worth around $20,000.

The collection is mostly made up of turquoise and opal, artist-signed, Navajo pieces.

Police say stolen property can be reported online, at any district office or by calling Calgary police’s non-emergency line.

Anyone with information about the location of the jewelry or who has information about this incident is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
