RCMP uniform stolen in Calgary break-and-enter

Calgary police are reminding the public that if they have a concern about a person identifying themselves as a police officer, they have the right to request to see the individual’s police badge and photo I.D.

This comes after a residential break-and-enter led to the theft of several RCMP uniform pieces, they add.

Investigators say sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19, two people broke into a home belonging to an RCMP member on Rowley Terrace NW and stole several piece of jewelry, handbags, wallets, and multiple RCMP uniforms and boots.

They add the value of the stolen property is more than $5,000.

Police believe the suspects may have been driving a U-Haul at the time of the theft.

One of the male suspects was seen wearing a red reflective work jacket, they say.

While some of the pieces have been located, others remain missing, according to investigators.
