Calgary and area residents will have their chance to voice their opinions on Alberta leaving the Canada Pension Plan Thursday.

The third of five telephone town halls starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m.

Northern Alberta and Southern Alberta engagement sessions took place in past weeks, while Edmonton and area and Central Alberta are still waiting their turn.

Premier Danielle Smith has pledged that a referendum would be held before leaving the CPP for an Alberta plan.

Several critics have said leaving the CPP is dangerous and the numbers being suggested by the province are “laughably inaccurate.”
