1 person killed after vehicle hits CTrain

Calgary police say one person has died and another person is in stable condition after a collision between a vehicle and a CTrain at Memorial Drive and Deerfoot Trail Friday.
Police tell CityNews the crash happened around 11:45 a.m.
The victim was initially sent to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition but later died.
The impact of the train is said to have pushed the vehicle down an embankment and near the CP Rail tracks.
The CTrain is stopped as a result of the incident.
At this time, there is no access from southbound Deerfoot Trail to eastbound Memorial Drive or from westbound Memorial Drive to southbound Deerfoot Trail.
Police expect closures to be in place for several hours.
