Calgary police charge 1 in drug trafficking investigation

A man is facing charges after a downtown Calgary drug-trafficking investigation lead to the seizure of loaded guns, restricted ammunition, and more than $110,000 in illegal drugs, police say.

On Tuesday April 4, 2023, officers tried to stop a black 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee following a traffic violation in the East Village.

Police say the Jeep drove away from officers who then started to investgate the potential driver and their activity.

On Thursday, April 20, 2023, investigators tried to stop the vehicle, but it fled again.

Last week, police searched a home on 3 Street SE, where two men were found and several items were seized by police.

Among the items taken during the search were cocaine, crack cocaine, fentanyl, and cash, as well as equipment to make crack cocaine and fentanyl, and several load firearms.

Khamis Bon Jacob Wolter is facing 17 charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and production for the purpose of trafficking, unsafe storage of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited weapon.

The 32-year-old from Calgary is set to appear in court on Friday, Feb. 16.

Police say the second person at the home during the search warrant was released without charges.
