Driver seriously hurt after crash on Stoney Trail in NW

A driver was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on Stoney Trail in northwest Calgary on Wednesday afternoon.

Calgary police tell CityNews they were called to the southbound Stoney ramp to Country Hills Boulevard NW around 12:45 p.m. for reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Police say the male driver of the vehicle was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Images from city traffic cameras indicate a vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail.

The southbound Stoney ramp to Country Hills was closed to traffic for several hours but reopend shortly after 4 p.m.
