Homicide unit investigating suspicious death at SE Calgary home

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is investigating a suspicious death that happened Monday morning.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is on scene in the southeast investigating a suspicious death that happened Monday morning.

Investigators say just before 8:30 a.m., officers were called to a home on Prestwick Terrace SE, for reports of an assault.

When police got there, they found one man dead.

An autopsy will be scheduled at a later date to confirm manner and cause of death, police say.

The suspect left the scene before investigators arrived, but was found and arrested a short time later at a nearby shopping plaza.

Investigators say at this time, they are not looking for any other suspects.

Police believe this incident was targeted and there is no threat to public safety.

Investigators are providing an update to the public in a press conference at 11 a.m.
