Pro-Palestinian protesters removed from Calgary mall for ‘disruptive behaviour’: police

A dozen pro-Palestinian protesters were removed from a downtown Calgary mall on Monday afternoon after allegedly vandalizing a store.

In a statement to CityNews, Calgary police say they were called to the Core Shopping Centre around 12:20 p.m. after getting reports of “disruptive behaviour.”

When officers arrived they noticed property damage inside an Indigo Book Store, according to police.

Police say twelve protesters were escorted out of the mall by officers.

It’s not known who organized the protest but police say their investigation is ongoing.

Indigo Stores have been targeted by pro-Palestinian protesters who have criticized CEO Heather Reisman for establishing a foundation providing scholarships to foreign soldiers serving in the Israel Defense Forces.
