Calgary police are looking for dashcam footage of a crash in the northeast last weekend that sent three people to hospital.

Investigators say shortly after midnight on the morning of Saturday, April 20, a 2020 Audi S5, driven by a 21-year-old man with a 19-year-old girl in the passenger seat, was speeding east on 16 Avenue NE.

At the same time, a 2020 Honda Civic, driven by a 29-year-old woman, was driving west on 16 Avenue NE waiting to turn south onto 1 Street NE.

Police believe the Honda was hit by the Audi while trying to turn, which caused the Honda to spin and come to a stop on the median, facing east.

The Audi also mounted the curb and hit a building on 16 Avenue.

According to investigators, the driver of the Honda was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver of the Audi suffered minor injuries and his passenger suffered serious injuries.

Speed is being investigated as factor in the collision, police say. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact police at 403-266-1234 or tip anonymously through CrimeStoppers.
