One person critically hurt after truck crashes into building in downtown Calgary

One person is in critical condition and a section of 9 Avenue was temporarily shut down in downtown Calgary after a crash involving a large truck.

The city said the eastbound lanes of 9 Avenue were closed approaching 3 Street SE following a collision around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The road reopened shortly after 2:30 p.m.

Traffic cameras in the area appear to show a large white cube van with significant front-end damage.

Paramedics tell CityNews a vehicle crashed into a building and one person was taken to hospital in critical condition.

There is no word what caused the crash.
