Suspect opened bank accounts, took out loans using High River resident’s identity

Mounties south of Calgary are asking for help identifying a suspect in an identity fraud investigation.

RCMP in High River say they began investigating when a resident reported an issue after getting a credit check through Equifax.

Police say the victim’s identity was used to open several bank accounts and a loan was taken out in her name in both Alberta and B.C.

Investigators have not figured out how the suspect, or suspects, were able to get the victims information.

A photo has been released of one suspect, police are asking the public for help identifying the pictured person.

Anyone with information is urged to contact High River RCMP at 403-652-2357, or CrimeStoppers anonymously.
