Banff National Park lifts fire ban

A fire ban for Banff National Park and the town of Banff has been lifted.
In an update Monday, Parks Canada says recent precipitation has helped to push the fire danger in the park to ‘low’ so fires are again allowed.
Campfires are permitted in campgrounds and day-use areas that have designated metal fire pits. Designated fire pits include metal fire rings, metal fire boxes, and cook stoves within cooking shelters.
Elevated fire danger pushed Parks Canada officials to issue the fire ban for the park in mid-July.
