Man charged after jet ski hit-and-run on Ghost Lake

A Cochrane man is facing charges after a crash involving a jet ski and paddleboard on Ghost Lake over the weekend.

Emergency crews were called to Ghost Lake, about 20 kilometres west of Cochrane, around 7 p.m. Saturday after getting reports of a crash on the water.

RCMP say a jet ski crashed into a paddleboard, leaving a man on the paddleboard with injuries. A girl who was also on the paddleboard was not hurt.

The driver of the jet ski left the area before officers arrived but was later identified by witnesses and arrested.

Cochrane resident Bradley Edward Baxandall, 31, is facing four charges including failing to stop after an accident and refusing to comply with alcohol demand.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
