Calgary police identify man who may have contacted woman found dead at SAIT residence

Calgary police have identified the man they believe may have had recent contact with a woman who was found dead at a SAIT student residence.

Emergency crews were called to a residence tower in the 100 block of Dr Carpenter Circle NW around 5:40 p.m. Wednesday for reports of a body being found.

Officials completed an autopsy on Thursday and identified the victim as a woman in her 20s, but the cause of death remains unknown.

SAIT has confirmed she was a student at the post-secondary institution.

Police said Saturday they have identified the man and no longer needs public help.

The investigation remains ongoing.
