Three teenagers have been charged in connection to the armed robbery of 10 Calgary weed stores back in 2023.
On Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023 just before midnight, three people entered the Four20 cannabis shop on 33 Avenue SW, assaulted staff members before stealing merchandise and cannabis products, and leaving the store.
Police were contacted and searched the area immediately after the incident and weren’t able to find the suspects.
Later that month, more, similar robberies happened across the city.
The severity of the robberies prompted the Calgary Police Service (CPS) Robbery Unit began to investigate. Based on the evidence collected, police identified three suspects they believed to be responsible for the crimes.
Search warrants were executed at three homes connected to the suspects on Dec. 11, 2023.

At the time, investigators say clothing and cellphones were seized. The electronic devices and evidence were analyzed and subsequently connected the suspects to several robberies dating back to February 2023.
On Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024, one of the 18-year-old suspects turned himself into police. He was charged with four counts of robbery with a firearm.
In December 2024, police laid charges against two other teen boys, age 17 and 18, who are currently wanted on warrants.
The oustanding teens are each charged with 10 counts of robbery with a prohibited firearm, 10 counts of disguise with intent, seven counts of forcible confinement, one count of assault causing bodily harm, and one count of theft of a motor vehicle.
The teenagers can’t be named under provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, as they were under 18 when the offences happened.
