Homicide investigating death of man at downtown Calgary apartment building

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found badly hurt at a downtown Calgary apartment building on Thursday.

Emergency crews were called to a building along 7 Avenue SW near 9 Street SW around 8 a.m. for reports of a man in medical distress.

The victim was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition. He died of his injuries on Friday, according to Calgary police.

One person has been taken into custody after investigators reviewed security footage in the building.

An autopsy on the victim is scheduled for Monday.
