Power restored in SE Calgary after unexpected outage

Power has been restored for thousands in southeast Calgary following an unplanned power outage on Monday afternoon.

Enmax says the unexpected outage affected the communities of Copperfield, New Brighton, McKenzie Towne and the East Shepard Industrial area.

The outage started just after 5 p.m. and the power was restored before 6:45 p.m. Enmax said nearly 3,000 customers were impacted.

The investigation into the cause of the outage is ongoing.
