More charges laid against 19-year-old in fatal stabbing outside Calgary bar

Calgary Police have shared an update on the fatal downtown Calgary stabbing that took place in late April.

A young man charged with second-degree murder following a fatal stabbing outside a downtown Calgary bar is facing additional charges.

Emergency crews were called to Commonwealth Bar & Stage on 10 Avenue SW in the early morning hours of April 26 for reports of an “alcohol-fueled fight.”

Three people were found outside with stab wounds and 21-year-old Jonas Robert Nedd was pronounced dead after being rushed to the hospital. The two others were taken to hospital in stable condition and eventually released.

On May 3, police arrested 19-year-old Drayden Leroy Nayneecassum-Toto outside a downtown bar. He was charged with second-degree murder the next day.

Police now say Nayneecassum-Toto has been charged with aggravated assault in connection to a second victim who was hurt in the fight.

The investigation is ongoing.
