Child found alone by Alberta RCMP reunited with care providers

After appealing to the public for help, Alberta RCMP say they located the family of a child found all alone walking along the Trans Canada Highway near Brooks Friday night.

The seven-year-old, dressed in an orange T-shirt, striped shorts and white socks, was walking just east of Brooks about 9 p.m.

Police canvassed the area, but when they were unable to find the youngster’s family, they put out a public appeal.

There were also no missing child reports to try to track down the pre-teen’s family.

In an update Saturday morning, RCMP say they have found the child’s care providers. No other details were released.
