83-year-old pedestrian dies from injuries sustained in SE Calgary crash

Calgary police are investigating a collision that killed a woman in her 80s last weekend.
Investigators say around 2:15 p.m. on Sunday, July 20 a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of 31 Street and 17 Avenue SE.
Police believe a 2012 Ford F150 was driving in the northbound lanes of 31 Street SE waiting to turn right onto 17 Avenue SE.
At the same time, an 83-year-old woman was crossing 31 Street SE, heading east.
After the traffic signal turned green, the truck started to turn.
It’s believe the woman entered the path of the truck and was hit.
She was taken to hospital where she later died of her injuries.
The driver of the truck stayed at the scene and wasn’t hurt.
Speed, alcohol, and drugs aren’t considered to be factors in this collision.
