Alberta woman killed in head-on crash near Airdrie

A head-on crash near Airdrie claimed the life of an Alberta woman on Tuesday night.

At around 9 p.m., RCMP responded to a call about a serious collision on Highway 566 near Range Road 283.

According to police, an eastbound Isuzu box truck was struck by a westbound black Dodge Ram that had crossed into the opposite lane after reaching the top of a hill.

The impact caused the Dodge Ram to roll into a ditch, while the Isuzu truck ended up on its side.

The driver of the Dodge, a 35-year-old woman from Springbrook, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not been released.

Three individuals traveling in the Isuzu truck sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

RCMP continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
