Two teens charged in violent Facebook Marketplace robberies: Calgary police

Two teenagers are facing charges in connection with a pair of violent robberies linked to Facebook Marketplace late last year.
Calgary police say the first incident happened on Nov. 1, when a man arranged to sell an Apple iPhone from his home in the northwest community of Ambleton.
When two males arrived at the residence, they pushed the seller to the ground and fled with the phone.
Just over a month later, on Dec. 6, a similar situation unfolded in the southeast community of Dover.
A man selling a laptop invited a prospective buyer to his home. Two males arrived, inspected the device, and then, without warning, used bear spray on the homeowner.
A struggle broke out inside the home and spilled onto the front lawn. Security footage provided to CityNews in the days following the incident showed the homeowner fighting off the suspects as his wife rushed in to help. The suspects fled without the laptop.

Investigators later determined the same two individuals were responsible for both robberies. Evidence collected from the scenes, including security footage, helped police identify the suspects in December 2025.
A 17‑year‑old has been charged with two counts of robbery and one count of disguise with intent. A 16‑year‑old has been charged with two counts of robbery.
Both youths are protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act and cannot be named.
