A teen girl is in hospital with life‑threatening injuries after a crash in southeast Calgary early Wednesday morning.
Police say the crash happened around 3:40 a.m. when a 2025 Volkswagen SUV was heading north on 26 Street SE, near 25 Avenue SE.
Investigators say the SUV struck a parked 2007 GMC Savana. The impact pushed the GMC into another parked vehicle, a 2017 Mazda 3. Both parked vehicles were unoccupied.
The driver of the Volkswagen was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Investigators are looking into whether speed played a role in the crash.
