Parents brace for higher bus fees

With those yellow buses starting to shuttle students back to school this week, parents are bracing for a 38 per cent bus fee hike.
Parents with more than two kids will be hit especially hard; the $400 family maximum was eliminated, so big families could end up paying a lot more than in years past.
One mother of four tells The Calgary Herald her bus fees will now be up around $1,200.
The Calgary Board of Education has been forced to up the fees to grapple with a $61.7-million deficit.
