Tories name replacement in Calgary-Shaw

Premier Alison Redford has appointed a replacement for outgoing MLA Cindy Ady.

Farouk Adatia gets the nod to run in the coming spring election for the riding of Calgary-Shaw.

The Calgary-based lawyer was Redford’s Chief Financial Officer during her leadership campaign.

Calgary-Shaw Riding Association authorities tell The Calgary Herald Adatia won a secret ballot over one other contender.

They say the truncated nomination process was necessary because of time constraints.
