Steep increase at the pumps on the way

One gas analyst says it’s about to get a little pricier at the pumps very soon.

Gasbuddy.com analyst Dan McTeague says it all has to do with the announcement of crude cut by OPEC that’s got financial traders giddy and retailers ready to respond.

“As of Thursday, most gas stations will have to buy that gas for about 90 cents per litre given the potential loss and low retail margins it’s most likely in the next 24 to 48 hours prices in Calgary are likely to increase by about 11 to 13 cents a litre.”

He adds it’s in sharp contrast to what gas prices normally do at this time of year.

We usually see prices decline as we exit the summer driving season.
