Truck involved in downtown Calgary hit-and-run found, woman in her 20s in life-threatening condition

Calgary police have found the truck that hit a woman in her 20s after a hit-and-run in downtown Calgary, but are still trying to figure out the identity of the driver.

Police say the crash happened on 5 Avenue SE and Macleod Trail around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A woman in her 20s was rushed to hospital in life-threatening condition after she was hit by a pickup truck.

Investigators say the driver of a silver or grey, early 2020s Jeep Gladiator truck was speeding in the far left lane on 5 Avenue and ran a red light, hitting the woman as she tried to cross the road.

The woman was hit by the front driver’s side of the truck and was seriously hurt.

Officers say they found the truck that hit the woman a few hours after the crash at a residential parkade in the northeast community of Bridgeland.
