Calgary man arrested on 39 drug and gun-related warrants

A Calgary man was arrested on 39 warrants and faces 32 additional drug and gun-related charges after a months-long investigation.
Officers say they got “a tip from the public” earlier this summer about a man possibly involved in drug trafficking and gun use.
Police searched one apartment in the southeast community of Lake Bonavista, and another in the southwest community of Mission, as well as two vehicles on Sept. 27.
Investigators arrested 30-year-old Alexander Corbett at the Mission home, and found:
- A loaded handgun and two unloaded handguns
- Ammunition
- Two high-capacity magazines containing ammunition
- $53,400 cash
- 217 grams of cocaine
- Two kilograms of methamphetamine
- 700 grams of fentanyl
- 30 oxycodone pills
- Six grams of crack cocaine
- Digital scale and money counter
The drugs that were seized are estimated to be worth more than $342,000.

Corbett faces a total of 71 charges, including drug trafficking and gun-related offences.
He is set to appear in court Monday.
“We thank the public for coming forward with information that led to the successful investigation into drug trafficking and gun violence within our city. Removing these illegal drugs, weapons and ammunition from our streets will prevent further harm in our community. If we want to tackle gun violence in our city, this is one way in which the community can help. No tip is insignificant,” said Staff Sgt. Kurt Jacobs.
