Calgary police warns of stolen law enforcement uniforms

The Calgary Police Service (CPS) is warning people that several police uniform pieces have been stolen from a local business.

Police say they were called on Monday at around 5:30 a.m. for reports of theft that took place in a clothing company that supplies uniform pieces for law enforcement and peace officers in the northeast community of Horizon.

When they arrived to the business, they found several display items missing from the front of the store.

The missing items include jackets and pants belonging to Calgary and Saskatoon police services.

CPS says no firearm, ammunition, police radio equipment, or police use of force options were stolen.

Officers ask people to be cautious of others dressed in police uniforms, and suggest asking officers to show their police badge and ID if confronted.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 403-266-1234, or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
