A Calgary man has been charged in connection with a string of break and enters in Cochrane, according to RCMP.
On Tuesday, between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., Cochrane RCMP say officers responded to three incidents in Rocky View County.
Investigators say the break and enters happened in the areas of Villosa Ridge and Springbank Road.
The suspects are thought to have driven onto properties and rang doorbells to determine if residents were home, according to police. If there was no answer, the suspects would then force entry into the home.
Police credit “quick reporting” by a home owner who was alerted to the break-in from his security system, which lead RCMP to the arrest of one person.
Dereck Wayne Mcinnis, 41, from Calgary, has been charged with break and enter to a residence and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, RCMP said Wednesday.
Mcinnis was taken before a justice of the peace and released from custody ahead of a Sept. 19 court date in Cochrane.
Police say the suspects were driving a white, four-door Volkswagen sedan.

Cochrane RCMP are asking residents to check any camera footage they may have. If you have captured the vehicle on your property, please contact police.
RCMP are also reminding the public to report any suspicious activity to police immediately.
Investigators are releasing photos of several items that were seized from the suspect in hopes that potential victims can identify them.
Cochrane RCMP says it continues to investigate the break and enters and they believe there are more suspects.
