Man faces attempted murder charges at Calgary airport shooting: Calgary police

Calgary police are charging a man with attempted murder in relation to a “road rage incident” at the Calgary International Airport Cell Phone Lot that happened Wednesday.

In an email to CityNews, police say that 24-year-old Ethan Zakariyya El-khatib is facing six charges, including attempted murder with a firearm, discharging of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possessing a restricted firearm, possessing a prohibited device, and possession of a firearm with the serial number removed.

Officers say reports came in for shots fired just after 12 p.m. along Airport Road NE.

At the time, one victim was treated for minor injuries, and investigators believed that the shooting was a “targeted incident.”

However, EMS tells CityNews that “two adults” were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
