Downtown Calgary stabbing sends one man to hospital

One man was taken to hospital in serious condition in Calgary, following an assault with a weapon in the city’s downtown Monday afternoon.

One man is in hospital following an apparent stabbing along the Bow River path in downtown Calgary on Tuesday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to the pathway near the Simmons Building in the East Village around 4:25 p.m. for reports of an assault.

Calgary police say officers arrived to find a man suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

Police initially said no one was in custody, but provided an update an hour later saying one person was under arrest.

The investigation is ongoing.
