NW Calgary diner, vintage car vandalized; police investigating

A popular old-school diner in Calgary’s Bowness community was the recent target of vandalism, and police are searching for a suspect. Jayden Wasney reports.

Police are investigating after a popular classic diner in northwest Calgary was the target of vandals last week.

Calgary police tell CityNews they were called to Angel’s Drive-In in Bowness around 1:30 a.m. last Friday for reports of someone vandalizing the restaurant.

The suspect left the area before officers arrived.

The restaurant confirms they were “hit hard” by graffiti vandalism that targeted the restaurant and the 1963 Cadillac located on the roof of the building. Images show graffiti spray-painted along both sides of the classic convertible, and across the front windshield.

Investigators say the damage is more than $5,000 and they are currently reviewing video evidence to learn more.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.
