Calgary Transit is preparing to introduce onboard display screens on its bus fleet that will show real‑time trip information for riders.
As part of a pilot project, the agency says it has already installed passenger screens on 100 buses and community shuttles.
The displays show route details, requested and upcoming stops, estimated arrival times, and service announcements. Calgary Transit says the screens will be expanded across more than 1,000 buses and shuttles starting in October 2026, with installation expected to finish in early 2027.
The new displays are tied to an updated system that is used to track vehicles, manage bus operations, and communicate with the Transit Control Centre. The upgrade has improved the accuracy of bus‑tracking information on the Transit app and the online trip planner, according to officials.
Calgary Transit says the updated system also gives operators new features, including simplified login, turn‑by‑turn navigation, detailed incident information, construction detours, and access to live video feeds during emergencies.
