A Calgary security company is on the hook for $90,000 in possible fines after failing to protect a female guard from rape.
Garda Canada Security plead guilty to charges under workplace safety laws in court on Tuesday.
The assault happened in November 2006 at a construction site on Macleod Trail, while the woman was working alone.
Court found the site wasn’t properly locked up.
In a victim impact statement, the woman says she thought she was going to die at the time and is still haunted by what happened.
