The woman who was found dead in a northeast home last year with the bodies of three infants had severe mental issues and police have not ruled out infanticide.
In October of last year, 27-year old Hasimrat Kahlon was found in her home and after further investigation the bodies of two baby girls and a boy were found in air-tight containers in suitcases in closets in the basement suite.
A psychological autopsy found she suffered from depression and border-line personality disorder.
Forensic Psychologist Dr. J. Thomas Dalby says while this isn’t a clear cut case of infanticide, Kahlon either killed her children or let them die. He says upon reading the woman’s diary, he feels she felt she was worthless and had lost her will to live.
Dr. J. Thomas Dalby says the 27-year-old also was scared of being abandoned and was attached to her children and that is why she kept them close to her.
Police say Kahlon hid her pregnancies from her family and common-law husband and died weeks after giving birth, due to complications,
It is still unclear how the children died.
