Family reacts to Rietze sentencing

The brother of a man who’s pleaded guilty to the rape and murder of his 17 year-old step daughter says he’s pleased his family will be spared a lengthy and graphic trial.
Bradley Rietze has been given a mandatory sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years for the killing of Brittney McInnes.
Speaking outside the courthouse following the sentencing of Bradley Rietze, Gary Rietze says he’s still trying to come to grips with what’s happened to his once tight knit family
“The guilty plea saved a lot of grief for the families in general and to get it over with now gives us a chance to actually go forward tomorrow with something new” he says.
He adds the crime has taken the toll on a lot of people and the family looks forward to a new beginning but will always to remember to look back at the life of a once joyful 17 year-old girl.
