Arrest warrants issued in 17th Avenue stabbings

Calgary Police have warrants out for a suspect in a series of stabbings earlier this month along 17th Avenue in the southeast. At least two of the three attacks were believed to be random.
Police are looking for 21-year-old Gary John Contois for aggravated assault in one of the attacks, and two charges of breach of recognizance.
Another man was arrested in connection with all three incidents on January 8th.
In two of the cases, individual men were approached by a group of three others who tried to engage them in a fight, and then stabbed them.
The third victim was found at a home nearby, and police believe he may have been with the two suspects earlier in the evening.
Their investigation continues.
