More immunization clinics after a new case of the measles found in Calgary

A new case of the measles has been found in Calgary and Alberta Health is offering immunization clinics for anyone who needs shots.

Clinics take place:

Wednesday, April 30
1 p.m. to 8 p.m.
South Calgary Health Centre Immunization Clinic (3rd floor, 31 Sunpark Plaza SE)
Northgate Immunization Clinic (A154, 495 – 36 Street NE)

Saturday May 3
9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
South Calgary Health Centre Immunization Clinic (3rd floor, 31 Sunpark Plaza SE)
Brentwood Immunization Clinic (Unit 302, 3630 Brentwood Road NW)

Alberta Health officials say this is the ninth case in the region.

They are warning the public to be aware if they were in any of the following places from april 18th to the 21st.

A & W Restaurant – 190-4307 130 Ave S.E., Calgary
April 18 – 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Walmart – 4705 130 Ave S.E., Calgary
April 18 – 12:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

South Health Campus Emergency Department – 4448 Front Street S.E., Calgary
April 18 – 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

La Charme Hair Salon & Spa – #2, 539 Queensland Place S.E., Calgary
April 19 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Pet Planet Millrise Plaza – #3117, 150 Millrise Blvd. S.W., Calgary
April 19 – 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Safeway Southcentre – 11011 Bonaventure Dr. S.E., Calgary
April 21 – 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Anyone with symptoms of the illness is encouraged to seek medical attention. Symptoms of measles include:

A fever of 38.3° C or higher;

Cough, runny nose and/or red eyes;

A red blotchy rash that appears three to seven days after fever starts, beginning behind the ears and on the face and spreading down the body and then to the arms and legs.
